Leipzig - Anyone leaving Leipzig Central Station through the West Hall towards the city center can hardly miss it: the Peaceful Revolution mural by Michael Fischer-Art. However, since summer 2023, a hotel complex has been built on the site - the work will disappear as a result. A variant has now been found of how it can continue to exist, at least digitally.

City has no means to save Michael Fischer-Art's image of the fall of the Wall

Quickly take another photo, because at some point it will disappear, of course, the huge mural by Michael Fischer-Art on the Brühl arcades between Brühl and Richard-Wagner-Straße. The archaeologists are already digging hard. But it won't be long before the construction cranes turn here and a new hotel is built. The city cannot save the mural by Michael Fischer-Art, reports the Department of Culture.
